Easy & Healthy // Green Goddess Smoothie Recipe

Half a year ago, I purchased a blender in the hopes that it would complement the super healthy lifestyle that I envisioned for myself. By December of 2016, I had used it a grand total of zero times. But, with the new year in full swing, I finally decided to dust off and crack open my blender and take the first steps toward a cleaner and healthier diet. Smoothies have officially marked their debut as a staple in my breakfast and post work-out menu. They’re such an easy and delicious way to squeeze in your recommended daily serving of fruits and veggies into your hectic schedule.

I would like to share my recipe to one of my favorite smoothie concoctions: the Green Goddess (cue angelic voices here). It’s jam-packed with bananas, mangoes, and spinach, each of which contain vital nutrients and antioxidants1 that promote healthier skin, lower blood pressure, and many other health benefits.2 Plus, the best part is that you don’t even taste the spinach!

Total Time: 10 minutes

Yield: 2 servings

Serving Size: 1 smoothie

Green Goddess Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 2 medium sized bananas
  • ½ cup nonfat greek yogurt
  • 1 cup soy milk
  • 1 cup frozen mangos
  • 1 ½ cup fresh spinach
  • ½ - 1 cup ice

Instructions

  • I like to start off by washing my spinach under cold water to make sure it’s extra clean. Then I toss all the ingredients into my blender of doom and let it slice through until it’s well mixed (which typically takes about 1-2 min). I usually like my smoothies to have a thicker consistency so if you find that it’s too hard to blend just add more soy milk or water! In the end, you should have made enough for 2 smoothies so throw the second half in your fridge for later or share with it with a friend!

Notes

This also serves as a great post-workout snack! Just add a scoop of your favorite protein powder. If anyone is interested in which blender I use, it’s the Ninja Master Prep (you can find it here for about 40 bucks).

    1. Yeah it really is! It’s actually perfect for post-workouts too 🙂 I’ll also probably be making more smoothies once it starts to get a big warmer!

    1. Ugghh yes mangoes are seriously my jam! haha, and no way I’ll definitely check that out because many times I find it so hard to get the recommended servings of both veggies and fruits so a bag like that would be super convenient! 🙂
